| | Thanks so much for this! I run a pre-teen ministry in Ireland of about 80 kids. My bgsgeit struggle has been to stay up to date with pre-teen culture to make sure my methods are still effective and relevant to the young people I minister too. This is a great resource for helping me stay relevant! Thanks so much! | | | | 3u0lu9Wy (Gast)
| | I have very curly long hair that I get compliments all day every day. I have hair medoled for a few years and am a hairstylist. My curl is soft and never crunchy. That was way way way too much so here is a few pointers on something better. 1. never ever under any circumstances touch mousse to your curls!2. good hair days start with health and great foundation. Invest in good shampoo and conditioner. Doesn't have to be a fortune, but if you want your hair to look good, you have to nourish it properly. A heavy conditioner does wonders for curly hair. Properly conditioned and moisturized curls are not frizzy! I personally use Aveda Smooth Infusion shampoo (to soften the cuticle) and Aveda Damage Remedy conditioner (super heavy but wont weigh down your curl and nutrient rich). Let conditioner sit on your hair while you're in the shower.3. do not dry your hair with a towel, the fibers in the towel rough up the cuticle of the hair making it frizzy, instead use an old tshirt.4. brush your hair only when wet, wide tooth comb works the best.5. use a light CREAM based product. This won't give you the crunchy, still-wet-even-though-my-hair-has-been-dry-for-2-days look. Living Proof Nourishing Styling Cream works amazingly. For long hair, part your hair into 2 sections, squirt some styling cream in your hands and work through layer by layer on one side, then repeat on the other side. finger comb this through to apply it, don't brush after. After I focus just a tad more on my ends since that is the dryest part, then kind of "ruffle" it up a bit. I spray in Aveda Pure Abundance Style Prep after this, just a little, gives the curl more to hold on to.6. The worst part is... no blow drying. Thats when the curl really loses shape, gets frizzy and looks like you have been electrocuted. Since I have so much hair, I wash my hair at night, usually 2 hours or so before bed and its still wet. Sooo to sleep I pile it all up on top of my head and put in a semi loose pony tail, dont slick it back. the next morning when you take out your pony it has tons of volume at the roots from being up and the curl is soft and pretty. 7. On the few less perfect curls, go over with a curling iron. 8. I dont use hairspray. Once it is completely dry I do use Aveda Anti Humectant just on my ends to lock the moisture in.Sounds like a lot but really its a 3 minute process, besides the air drying part. I'm not kidding, do this and you will thank me eternally |
